Through choosing an existing scientific journal, we set out to re-design the front covers and the inside pages of the journal. This was completed during a lesson in typography at university where there was a focus on the typographical execution of the re-design, not so much of the covers.
In a way, the project was split in two. One part of the project, we re-designed the covers and in the other part we re-design the inside. The project was completed in groups of two, where we were to design the covers individually and the inside together. The front page part of the exercise was more of a liberal design lesson rather than a strict typgraphical project, such as the inside body text was.
We learned a ton about editorial design and typographical composition in this project. I will hold on to this knowledge for a very long time and I have learned things about typography from this project I will never forget.
